House Warming

Back in the summer a friend and colleague of mine, Katie Deverell and her family moved into the most amazing house. A beautiful Victorian villa that had been largely untouched for decades. I was very excited when she invited me round for an explore, and to record the house to try to capture the nostalgia and passing of time that it exudes. Layers of wallpaper, servants' staircase, fireplaces - the house is fascinating and even though you can feel the echoes of the past all around you, it is an incredibly warm house - crying out for a family to move in and make it a family home once again.

A few weeks later, Katie held a house-warming party. Again she asked me to pop by and take some photos to document the day. It was great to see the house coming to life, with children laughing and friends and family enjoying the house and each other's company.

I'm really pleased for the Deverells that they have found their dream house, and I look forward to seeing how they make their mark on their new home.
